Integration of user engagement.
Interactive elements can make or break a website, if done right they can create an engaging way for the viewer to interact with a company or event however if done wrong they can seriously damage a company’s image, if a website is considered faulty or broken by users it deters them from going further into a website. As an example think back to the last time you were met with a website that wasn’t working as intended if you cant it was most likely because you like many others will leave websites if things start not working properly. However with that in mind, they can also elevate the ability of a brand to be memorable which for an event like the Freedom Festival is the most favourable outcome.
Engaging Animation and Graphics
One way to incorporate animations and graphics in your website is with the introduction to the website also known as the landing page. Here is a brief animation storyboard that could be used in this type of context. With this type of entry to the website being a small animation, it will definitely become memorable for the user as most web pages go straight into the homepage using that as their landing page.
With this idea in mind its important to consider how it works the idea being that upon clicking the link to the webpage you will be directed to a landing page that animates on scroll so by the time they reach the end of the page there should be some method to direct them to the homepage of the website either an automatic redirect upon reaching the end or potentially a button at the end although this may take away from the experience. This could also be done in an animated GIF however I believe a scrolling animation to be more engaging. I wouldn’t put this on the main homepage as that would force users to go through it every time the page refreshes so ideally there should be a way to avoid it for quick access to information even from the landing page for example the menu should still remain present for the landing page.
