Teamworking
In this post i will go through the Class Teamwork task which includes Rob’s Psychometric test and how it relates to my section of the Group Flipbook animation.
Rob's Psychometric Test Results
The first Step in the team-working task was to fill out and complete Rob’s Psychometric test, in order to do this we were shown a series of videos, and clips from the good the bad and the ugly with the last video we watched being an orchestra performing one of the songs. After this video we were told to choose how much we related to each of the participants in the orchestra in order to determine how we approach problems and see ourselves. This knowledge was then used in order to help inform the decision about the order of the people in the flip book stop motion animation, being closest to the conductor this meant i was put in charge opting to start with myself and move down the classroom almost as a caterpillar would going in an S pattern following the shape of the seating arrangement in the classroom. When making my choices i focused more on how the individual people make me feel, by putting myself in their shoes and trying to see things from their perspective in order to get a more accurate result from the test. I chose the Conductor as my main relation as i believe that i fit better into a leadership position being comfortable working with others and being in control/ taking responsibility where others may feel uncomfortable.
Caterpillar Flip Book Animation
Being the Conductor otherwise known as the leader for this task i had the opportunity to start off the flip book animation. This meant i got to decide on the name for the project to put in the introduction frames. For this i tried to be creative using my knowledge of conceptual design to use. I ended up settling on “The Changing Caterpillar” I chose this as it plays on the fact that as the caterpillar animation moved from person to person it would change as peoples drawing styles differ, it also works quite well as the caterpillar is one of the worlds naturally evolving creatures going through metamorphosis in order to transition into life as a butterfly therefore the name seemed quite fitting for the project itself. I decided to go further into the conceptual design element by transitioning from the letter “i” in the title into the egg for the caterpillar which rolls off leading to the caterpillar breaking free and crawling away presumably into the next person’s flipbook animation. This would then continue until the end of the chain where the final person designed a finishing animation for the caterpillar at the end of the sequence.
